Doomsday

So the 21st of December 2012 passed us by and with a lot of commotion I would say. I think it all started out with the movie 2012 before which we were oblivious to the fact that the mayan calendar was supposedly hinting towards the end of the world as we know it.........or so we thought. It's frankly quite funny how people were getting scared of doomsday specially towards the 21st.
Here in Sri Lanka they were saying for the news about doomsday, imagine that and even the newspapers had it. My dad was under the presumption that seven suns were going to rise on the 21st, and on the eve of the 21st there was a huge storm  thus, there was lightning and heavy rains (which is not all that special when you are living in a tropical country) and my dad was looking out the doorway. Out of the blue he hurriedly called and pointed to the distant and told us that what they were saying is true, the sun was rising in the night. At this point I wasn't exactly sure what he was pointing at, it could have simply been the lightning or a distant blaze of light, either way he was convinced that the sun was rising in the night and eventually 7 suns all together would be there the following day. Just imagine having 7 suns we would be scorched to death and the world would combust in a matter of minutes.
Another phenomenon that people believed was going to happen was that there was going to be 3 days of darkness like a plague or something. Even though this is plausible since there is scientific facts proving this claim however, experts have told that it would not happen this year.
Sometimes I wonder if the media  has ever tried finding out the truth behind these claims before giving it to the public, where some people actually took leave from work in order to spend their last day with their family. It's fascinating sometimes how easily people can be scared so easily and they don't even bother finding out the truth behind the claims before taking leave from work, closing shops and running home to spend time with their families.
But sometimes I do find myself wondering how the world would end someday, they have predictions that another galaxy is going to come in collision with ours but I always wanted something more exciting.
Well I guess we'll find out in another 4 billion years or so from now but by that time I would be dead and so would all the generations of people living right now.
But i have one question for you;
How would you spend your last day alive on earth? given that you are going to die in 24 hours either from some incurable disease or the world was going to end.
